What sub-affiliate commission means

Sub-affiliate commission is paid when one affiliate refers another affiliate, agency, publisher, or deal source and receives a share of that referred party's eligible earnings. It is common in affiliate networks, platform referral programs, and multi-tier commercial structures.

The key search-intent answer: sub-affiliate commission is not the same thing as operator RevShare. RevShare usually comes from traffic sent to an operator. Sub-affiliate commission comes from referring another commercial participant.

Example

An affiliate invites another affiliate to a platform. The referred affiliate later earns 8,000 EUR in eligible gross commission during a month. If the public referral terms pay 10% on eligible referred earnings, the referrer receives 800 EUR for that month, subject to the program's standing, fraud, payout, and eligibility rules.

The important part is disclosure. The program should explain the base, rate, duration, payout cadence, eligibility restrictions, and whether the referred affiliate's own earnings are affected.

What to inspect

Before treating a sub-affiliate offer as meaningful, check:

  • the commission base: gross commission, net commission, platform fee, or another defined base,
  • whether the rate is lifetime, time-limited, tiered, or capped,
  • whether the referred affiliate must remain in good standing,
  • whether the referrer needs an active subscription or account,
  • whether fraud, self-referral, duplicate accounts, or agency relationships are excluded,
  • whether reporting shows the referred account, period, and calculation.

Vague "lifetime commission" copy is not enough. The operating details decide whether the referral program is useful.

How BetLink uses the term

BetLink's referral page explains the referral flow and keeps sub-affiliate commission separate from operator RevShare. That separation matters because the risks are different. Operator RevShare depends on traffic economics and NGR. Sub-affiliate commission depends on referred affiliate eligibility, program rules, and platform reporting.

For affiliate teams, the practical workflow is to track referral links, referred-account status, eligible commission, payout cadence, and support follow-up in one place rather than treating referrals as a side note.

FAQ

Is sub-affiliate commission taken from the referred affiliate?

It depends on the program. A good public program states whether the commission is paid by the platform, deducted from the referred affiliate, or handled through another commercial structure.

Is sub-affiliate commission the same as RevShare?

No. RevShare usually describes operator revenue shared from referred traffic. Sub-affiliate commission is earned from referring another affiliate or partner relationship.
