1. Age gate (18+ only)
You confirm at sign-up that you are at least eighteen (18) years old and that you have full legal capacity in your jurisdiction. Some partner operators require a higher minimum age (e.g. 21 in select jurisdictions); affiliate accounts whose declared geography requires a higher minimum will be held to that higher minimum.
We use a self-declaration combined with KYA-stage IP and device-fingerprint heuristics. If we have a reasonable belief that a registered user is under the minimum age, we will lock the account, suspend any pending payouts, and require documentary age proof before re-opening. Failure to provide proof within fourteen (14) calendar days will result in account closure and forfeiture of any disputed balances.
2. No targeting of minors
Affiliates may not, under any circumstances, design or deliver campaigns that target minors. Without limitation, the following are strictly prohibited:
- Use of cartoon, anime, mascot, school-uniform, or similar imagery that has primary appeal to under-18 audiences.
- Placement on platforms or pages that are youth-oriented under their own terms of service (e.g. children’s YouTube channels, Roblox creator content, school-Discord servers, child-targeted apps).
- Use of celebrities, athletes, or fictional characters whose primary fanbase is under 18.
- Targeting parameters in advertising platforms that include or even partially overlap age brackets below the minimum, including unbounded broad-age campaigns where the minimum is not pinned.
- Promotional offers framed as “pocket-money”, “starter”, or “risk-free” in a way that normalises gambling for new or young audiences.
A confirmed breach of this section terminates the affiliate relationship immediately, voids all pending commissions on the breaching campaign, and is reported to relevant operators.
3. Creative & disclosure rules
Every creative used to promote an iGaming offer through BetLink must:
- Display a clear “18+” (or higher where applicable) badge in a legible position.
- Include a responsible-gambling reference (“Play responsibly. BeGambleAware.org” or local equivalent) within the visible frame, not only in fine print.
- Avoid claims that gambling is a solution to debt, depression, loneliness, or low income; avoid framing wins as a life-changing certainty.
- Comply with the operator’s own creative terms in addition to these rules.
4. Self-exclusion resources
If you or someone you know is affected by problem gambling, the following programmes provide free, confidential help:
- BeGambleAware (UK / international) — begambleaware.org, 24/7 helpline 0808 8020 133.
- GamCare (UK) — gamcare.org.uk, forum, chat, and one-to-one support.
- Bundeszentrale für gesundheitliche Aufklärung (Germany) — spielen-mit-verantwortung.de, Hotline 0800 1372700.
- Sucht Schweiz — suchtschweiz.ch.
- Anonyme Spieler / GA (DACH) — anonyme-spieler.org.
- OASIS (Germany) — central player block file under §8 GlüStV; once registered there, all licensed operators in Germany must refuse to accept stakes.
- European Gaming & Betting Association self-exclusion — operator-level directories such as GAMSTOP (UK) and CRUKS (NL).
5. Parental control software
Parents and guardians who want to block gambling content from devices used by minors can deploy any of the following industry-standard tools:
- Net Nanny, Qustodio, Bark, Aura, and Mobicip — multi-device parental-control suites.
- GamBan and BetBlocker — free, single-purpose blocking apps that cover gambling websites and apps across desktop and mobile.
- Operating-system tools — Apple Screen Time, Google Family Link, Microsoft Family Safety — let you block category “Gambling” and lock app installs.
- DNS-level filters such as NextDNS or OpenDNS Family Shield applied at the home router.
6. Internal moderation policy
The BetLink trust & safety team reviews flagged accounts, reported creatives, and compliance escalations daily on business days, with on-call coverage for urgent matters. Moderation decisions are logged, reviewable on request, and escalated to a human supervisor before any irreversible action (account closure, payout forfeiture, or operator-level reporting) is taken.
We pre-screen every onboarding affiliate against the BetLink blocklist and publicly available regulator-action databases. Sanctions, age-non-compliance, or known minor-targeting history are blocking conditions.
7. Reporting violations
To report a youth-safety concern (campaign apparently targeting minors, suspected under-age account, harmful content, or anything else that warrants urgent review), please use the Report page or write to {TODO(legal): trust@velocity.cy or safety@velocity.cy}. We aim to acknowledge within twenty-four (24) hours and to resolve or escalate within five (5) business days. Anonymous reports are accepted.
8. Operator cooperation
Where an operator partner identifies an affiliate-driven breach of its responsible-gambling rules, BetLink will, on request: freeze payouts, share the audit trail (subject to GDPR), and remove the campaign. Self-exclusion lists from licensed jurisdictions are treated as binding for all traffic flowing through BetLink.
